UDUS to receive £16,700 Grant from Transforming Energy Access (TEA) to Enhance M.Sc. Renewable Energy Programme
Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS), has secured a grant of £16,700 from TEA to support the integration of two new courses into its M.Sc. Renewable Energy Programme run by the Department of Energy and Applied Chemistry. The grant was awarded as part of the Transforming Energy Access–Learning Partnership (TEA-LP), a research and innovation platform funded by UK Aid. The newly added courses, “Local Solutions for Energy Access” and “Appliances for Off-Grid Communities,” aim to address the challenges of energy access and equip students with the necessary skills for sustainable energy practices. This achievement places UDUS among the select group of universities from Africa, Asia/Indo-Pacific regions. Twenty three (23) universities were competitively selected, including UDUS, to join the existing partnership of eight (8) universities. UDUS expresses its appreciation to TEA for this financial support, which will further enhance its M.Sc. Renewable Energy Programme and contribute to the university’s commitment to renewable energy education and research.
