Dr. Halima Sarkinfada
Brief Biography
Dr. Halima Sarkinfada, born in Birnin Kebbi, is a remarkable individual with a wealth of educational achievements. She embarked on her academic journey at Turaki Model Primary School, in Sokoto State, where she laid a strong foundation for her future endeavors. Continuing her educational pursuits, she attended Nana Girls Secondary School in Sokoto, further expanding her knowledge and skills. In 1991-1994, Halima Sarkinfada pursued a National Diploma (ND) in Secretarial Administration at Abdu Gusau Polytechnic in Talata Mafara, Zamfara State. This educational milestone provided her with valuable expertise and a solid background in her chosen field. Dr. Halima Sarkinfada's pursuit of higher education continued in 1999 when she enrolled at Usmanu Danfodiyo University in Sokoto State. Known for its serene and conducive learning environment, she embarked on a journey to obtain her Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Economics. With unwavering dedication and commitment, she successfully completed her studies in 2002, graduating with a distinguished Second Class Upper division.Right after completing her degree, Dr. Halima Sarkinfada was mobilized for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and was posted to Cross Rivers State, where she dedicated her time to serving the nation. Following her NYSC service, she secured a teaching position at the Sultan Maccido Institute for Quranic and General Studies. For a remarkable four years, she passionately imparted her knowledge as an Economics Teacher. Driven by her thirst for knowledge, Dr. Halima returned to Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto to further expand her academic horizons. In 2008, she obtained her Master of Science (M.Sc) degree in Economics, showcasing her expertise in the field. Building upon her educational achievements, she pursued a Master of Education (M.Ed) degree in Sociology of Education in 2010, further enriching her understanding of the subject. Not stopping there, Dr. Halima Sarkinfada's pursuit of knowledge led her to the University of Ilorin, where she attained her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Sociology of Education in 2017. Her dedication and commitment to her studies are truly inspiring.
Dr. Halima Sarkin Fada's journey at Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto is truly impressive. She started as a graduate assistant in June 2008 and worked her way up to the rank of senior lecturer in 2019. As a sociologist of education, she taught various courses at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, showcasing her expertise in the field.Dr. Halima's contributions extended beyond the classroom. She held several positions within the department, faculty, and the university as a whole. From being a member of the Social Ethics Committee to serving on the University Press Management Committee, she actively participated in shaping the academic environment. Her dedication to research and academic excellence is evident through her supervision of over 15 successful postgraduate students and her impressive portfolio of over 40 publications in reputable international journals. It's clear that Dr. Halima is committed to advancing knowledge and contributing to her field. Additionally, she is a member of esteemed professional organizations such as the Association of Sociologists of Education of Nigeria (ASEN) and the Teachers Registration Council. It's inspiring to see her active involvement in the academic community."Dr. Halima Sarkinfada, an erudite scholar, a pastor, a mother, a teacher, and a writer, has made a significant impact in Sokoto state. She has presented several lectures on ethical values, social ethics, and career guidance in primary and secondary schools, aiming to improve the moral standards of the youth. In her quest to assist humanity, Dr. Halima has gone above and beyond. She has extended her support to handicapped children who have a keen interest in Western education, helping them pursue their dreams. Additionally, she has provided assistance to women in need, helping them establish small-scale businesses. Dr. Halima Sarkinfada's dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment to making a positive impact on society are truly inspiring. She is a shining example of a leader, mentor, and advocate for change.
