Brief Biography

Adewale Ayodeji ADEYEYE was born in Vom near Jos in Plateau State. He attended National Veterinary Research Institute Staff Nursery & Primary School, Vom (1982 – 1991); National Veterinary Research Institute Staff Day Secondary School, Vom (1991 – 1994); Boys’ Secondary School, Gindiri, Plateau State (1994 – 1997); the University of Maiduguri, Nigeria (1999-2006), and Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Nigeria (2008 – 2011; 2012 – 2015). His qualifications include; DVM; MSc (Theriogenology) and PhD (Theriogenology). In addition, he has a Proficiency Certificate in Management, Certificate in Personal Development, Leadership and Life Management as well as Diploma in Computer Studies.

He was appointed Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Veterinary Medicine, Surgery and Theriogenology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto in August 2008. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Theriogenology and Animal Production of the same University. He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses which include: Advanced Obstetrics & Gynecology, Andrology & Artificial Insemination, Livestock Management & Project Evaluation, Animal Production, History of Veterinary Medicine, amongst others. He has successfully supervised 11 undergraduate and 5 postgraduate students, with 5 others at various stages of completion. Dr Adeyeye is an honorary consultant to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. He has published scholarly articles in international and local journals, proceedings and conferences with several others at different stages of manuscript preparation. Dr A. A. Adeyeye is an external examiner to the Faculties of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka; the University of Jos, Plateau state and the University of Abuja. He is a reviewer to Animal Reproduction Sciences, UK; Tropical Animal Health and Production, Netherlands; Livestock Research Innovation Corporation, Canada; One Health, Australia; Asian Pacific Journal of Reproduction, China; Veterinary Parasitology: Regional Studies and Reports, USA; Nigerian Journal of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, and Nigerian Veterinary Journal. He has served in various capacities including Member/Secretary, Vet 2011 Celebration Committee Nigeria, Collation Officer, Nigerian general elections among others.

He is currently the Departmental PG Coordinator and a member of the University Anti-Plagiarism Committee. He is the Deputy Editor in Chief/reviewer, Sokoto Journal of Veterinary Sciences; Member, Association of Editors of Scholarly Publications in Nigeria, Asian Council of Science Editors, International Association of Veterinary Editors and Member/Secretary, Committee of Editors of Academic Research Journals, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. He was awarded the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Staff Training and Development Fellowship for both MSc and PhD degrees. In 2014, he was a research visitor to the Department of Production Animal Studies, University of Pretoria, South Africa. Dr Adeyeye is happily married to Foluso Adeyeye, and the union is blessed with three children. His hobbies include driving, ball games, reading and travelling.
