Soil Science and Agricultural Engineering
The department of soil science and agricultural engineering was among the earlier established departments since the inception of Usmanu Danfodiyo University in 1975. The department was equipped with theoretical and practical teaching based resources and over the years have produced qualified graduates that excelled and contributing in various endeavours of national development. We have adequate and well trained teaching and non-teaching staffs, lecture theaters, laboratories, Teaching and Research farms among others.
The teaching and non-teaching staffs of the department are registered members of national and international professional bodies (E.g. International Union of Soil Science, Soil Science Society of Nigeria among other relevant societies).
Currently, the department offers; Bachelor of Agriculture (B. Agriculture, Soil/Crop option), MSc, MPhil and PhD programmes with specializations in;

- Soil Chemistry and Mineralogy
- Soil Fertility / Fertilizer Technology
- Pedology and Edapology
- Environmental Soil Science
