BRIEF HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT
The French Section of the Department of Modern European Languages was established in the 1979/80 sessions. In the 1987/88 session it was given the status of an autonomous Unit within the Department of Modern European Languages. It has remained so to date.

To be a renowned and respected centre of learning, research and innovation, constituting a focal point for positive socio-economic transformation of the region.
Our Mission
To provide quality teaching, research and community service under the most conducive atmosphere and in line with the National Policy on Education, irrespective of social class, gender, race, nationality and religion.
