Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences

FACULTY OF BASIC CLINICAL SCIENCES IN BRIEF
The University Senate at its 312th (special) meeting held on Wednesday 20th December, 2017 considered and approved the recommendation of the Academic Planning Committee (A.P.C) for the establishment of the Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences. The Faculty was carved out of the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences in January, 2018
The Faculty has full accredition by both the National Universities Commission and the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria. In addition, Departments of Medical Microbiology and Parasitology, Morbid Anatomy and Forensic Medicine and Chemical Pathology have partial accreditation by the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN) for training of Residents
Though the Faculty does not have undergraduate program of its own but receives 300-320 undergraduate students from 4 academic programmes (MBBS, Bachelors of Medical Labrotory Science, Nursing Sciences and Radiography) in 2017/2018 session. In the same vein, the Faculty has one (1) MPhil and Six M.Sc students enrolled for Postgraduate programmes in 2017/2018 session.
