DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING IN BRIEF
The Department aims to cultivate on the creation integration, transfer and application of knowledge relevant to the disciplines of Mechanical Engineering. It offers undergraduate program leading to the degrees of Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering (B.Eng.). The undergraduate curriculum is designed to prepare students for professional practice by equipping them with skills and qualifications to tackle problems in their professional life.
Our Mission
The department is committed to the development of technological knowledge, skills and understanding in Mechanical Engineering through best teaching and learning and to empower our graduates to have life skills and to be enterprising.
Our Vision
The vision of the programme is to train and develop human capital in Mechanical Engineering with relevant reference to technological advancement in: (i) Production Engineering (ii) Power and Process Engineering. This will be done with the aim of making the Department one of the leading institutions in Nigeria in teaching, training research and innovation in Mechanical Engineering.
