DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACEUTICAL MICROBIOLOGY AND BIOTECHNOLOGY IN BRIEF
Department of Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Biotechnology is one of the six departments that jointly graduate students for Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Carved out of the defunct Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Microbiology on 5th June, 2023, the pioneer head of the department in person of Assoc Prof. Mudasiru I. O. Raji was appointed by the university Vice Chancellor on 24th July, 2023, in acting capacity. The department runs several undergraduate courses from 200 Level to 500 Level across the two semesters. Three Postgraduate programmes are also being run by the department namely: MSc Pharmaceutical Microbiology, M.Phil/Ph.D. Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Ph.D. Pharmaceutical Microbiology. Together with Visiting Professors, the department is blessed with academic staff across the ranks, technologists and clerical staff.
