DEPARTMENT OF POLITICAL SCIENCE IN BRIEF
The department of Political Science was established in 1977 and produced its first set of graduate in 1980. The department has a broad undergraduate curriculum designed to contribute to the understanding of government, the political process, and public affairs. This is a field of interest to students’ desirable of playing a major role in national and community affair.
The programme provides some basic professional background for a public affairs career. For students who wish to pursue postgraduate work prior to entering a career in teaching and/or research, diplomatic work, politics or public affairs, public administration, or any other aspect of the profession of practicing political scientists the program will provide a sound and comprehensive foundation. Above all, the programme will provide the students with sufficient preparatory’ work for going into graduate and professional fields, such as business administration, journalism, public administration, international affairs, social work, etc.
