FACULTY-BASED TECHNOLOGY INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME (FTIP)

USMANU DANFODIYO UNIVERSITY, SOKOTO

Introduction

 

The Faculty-Based Technology Internship Programme (FTIP) is an initiative of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Network (UDUNet) that recruit and grows young ICT enthusiasts in the Faculty of Management Sciences to develop their ICT skills particularly in the open source technology and at the same time promote a better adoption of an IT/Internet lifestyle to support their growth. The Programme also promotes peering and collaboration with FTIP counterparts in other institutions of higher learning. The result of the Programme is the development of skilled students who can contribute to the development and support of IT infrastructure within their individual faculties and also creating a community of interns not only in Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto but beyond.

 

Philosophy & Objectives

 

The programme intends to;

Assist students develop employer valued skills, teamwork, communication and attention to details;

- Expose students to unwavering expectation of performance;

- Enhance and/or expand the students’ knowledge of particular areas of ICT;

- Expose students to professional models or mentors that will provide them with support in the early stage of the programme and also equip them with the required behaviour expected in the work place.

 

Benchmark for Application

- Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student from the Faculty of Management Sciences, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto

  • - He/She shall NOT be in their first neither final year of study
  • - He/She shall possess a minimum of 2.50 CGPA
    - The CBT carries 70% of the total exam score while the oral interview carries 30%. Cummulatively, an intern must score a minimum of 70% to enable him/her qualify for the programme.
