Dr. A. B. Bunza


Brief Biography

I was born on 24th October, 1984 in Bunza, Bunza Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Nigeria. I attended Bunza Town Model Primary School, from 1990 to1996. I attended Nagari College Birnin Kebbi from 1997-2002. I obtained my PhD and M.Sc in Agricultural Economics as well as Bachelor of Agriculture from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto in the year 2023, 2014 and 2008 respectively. I obtain postgraduate Diploma in Education from Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic Birnin Kebbi in the year 2016. I was employed by the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto in February, 2019 as Lecturer II and promoted to the rank of lecturer I in the year 2022 with Department of Agricultural Economics. I did NYSC in Lagos State from 6th July, 2010 to 5th July, 2011. I was a member of several statutory and ad-hoc committees within and outside the University. I taught several courses and supervised many final year projects of undergraduate students. I was employed by Labana Farms Limited as general Supervisor from August 2010 to February 2019. I worked as monitoring and evaluation officer in multidisciplinary organization including Diamond Development Initiatives (Market II Aquaculture Project in Sokoto State) sponsored by USAID, research assistant (data collector, Formative Research for Micro Nutrient Powder in Maiduguri and Kebbi) for UNICEF and data collector for HOPE2 (ICRISAT) as well as monitoring and evaluation officer (IFAD CBRDP Kebbi State) among others. I won some grant funded by World Bank through Transforming Irrigation Management in Nigeria (TRIMING) through the AfricaRice on Rice Value Chain in Middle Rima Valley Irrigation Scheme (MRVIS) Sokoto State and IBR-Tetfund research grant on Out-scaling Pearl Millet Improved Production Technologies to Farmers in Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto Communities.
