Dr. U.A. Aliyu

Brief Biography

ALIYU, Umar Abubakar was born in Sokoto South Local Government area of Sokoto state, in the year 1964. He attended Nurul Huda L.E.A. Primary School, Zaria from 1972 to 1978. He attended Government Teachers College, Binji in the year 1979 to 1983 where he obtained Grade II Teacher Certificate (GII). In the year 1984, he proceed to the then College of Education Sokoto now Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, where he obtained Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE) in the year 1987. He attended Usumanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto from the year 1991 to 1995 where he obtained a Bachelor of Education (B. A. Ed, Hausa) degree. In 2005, he returned to Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto for his Master’s Degree Programme where he obtained Master’s degree (M.Ed) in Educational Administration and Planning in the year 2009. He attended Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 2015 to 2023 where he obtained a Doctor of Philosophy(Ph.D) degree in Educational Administration and Planning. ALIYU, Umar Abubakar begin his teaching career at Junior Secondary School,Gande in 1987 to 1988; Model Primary School, Secretariat Road, Sokoto from 1988 to 1991; Sultan Abubakar College, Sokoto 1995 to 1997; Usmanu Danfodiyo University Model Secondary School(UDUMSS), Sokotofrom1999 to 2012; and the Department of Educational Foundations, Faculty of Education and Extension Services, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, from2012 to date. He have written about ten journal articles and Supervised a number of undergraduate student’s projects and is currently supervising a number of Postgraduate student’s thesis and dissertations. He is a member of Association of Theorists and Practitioners in Educational Management in Africa (ATPEMA);Nigeria Association for Educational Administration and Planning (NAEAP);Member philosophy of Education Association of Nigeria; andMember, Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria.ALIYU, Umar Abubakar is happily married with children
