Dr. Balkisu Saidu
Brief Biography
Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and an Associate Professor of Law, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Nigeria. Dr. Saidu obtained her Ph.D/SJD in Energy Law and Policy from Keio University, Tokyo, Japan; LL. M in Petroleum Law and Policy from the University of Dundee, Scotland, United Kingdom (UK); and BL from the Nigerian Law School, Bwari, Abuja, Nigeria.
She holds Certificate in Modern Practice in Petroleum Licensing from University of Dundee, Scotland, UK; Certificate in Leadership Skills from Lagos Business School, Nigeria; and Fukuzawa Bunmei Juku Certificate in Leadership from Keio University, Tokyo, Japan. She is a member of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA); International Bar Association (IBA); and International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE). Dr. Saidu is a Chevening and Monbukagakusho Scholar.
She serves as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Legal, Research & Compliance Matters, Office of the Vice President (2016 – 2023).
