Prof. M. D. Mahmud
Brief Biography
Prof. Muawiya Dahiru Mahmud is a Professor in ICT and Islamic Law. He obtained a Diploma in Sharia and Civil Law in 1990. He then went to Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto where he obtained his under undergraduate degree of LL.B (Common and Islamic Law) in 1996. He received his BL Certificate from the Nigeria Law School in 1999. Then in 2005 he got masters degree of LL.M from University of Jos, and in 2011 he acquired his Ph.D degree (in Telecommunications Law) from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. He equally hold a Certificate in Computer Studies.
Over a period of time, he teaches several courses during brief stints as visiting lecturer in many universities including Yobe State University, Nasarawa State University, Gombe State University and Sokoto State University. He served as Ag. Dean of Law (UDUS, 2015-2018), Deputy Dean (2014-20150, and Head of Department of Islamic Law, Gombe State University (2019-2021). He had also being a member of several university committees. He is married with children.
