Brief Biography

Abubakar, is an internationally recognized scientist in the field of Aquaculture and fisheries management. He holds a Bachelor, M.Sc., and PhD. degrees in Fisheries and Aquaculture management. His area of interest includes Aquaculture and Aquaculture diversification research and project management, Fish breeding and Genetic Research; He has experience in research design and methodologies, data processing, analysis, interpretation, and report writing. He is well-versed in the use of MS Office packages and statistical software’s such as SPSS, SAS, MINITAB and R. He has hands on experience in implementation of on farm adaptive research good in data analysis using (Microsoft excel tool, SAAS, MINITAB and SPSS) and mtDNA and Microsatelite data alignment and analysis of gene sequence via (blasting, Clustal W, Clustal X, MEGA, DNA SP, GENEPOP, ARLEQUIN and structure). Abubakar is also a Development Consultant with over 15 years professional experience as a teaching and research with vast analytical experience in various research studies across Fisheries, Agriculture and Agri-Business Development consulting; Micro, Small, Medium Entrepreneurship (MSME) development consulting; Trainer, Coach and Facilitator of MSME development using CEFE Facilitation Skills (Experiential learning, Principle of andragogy & Heutagogy) approach Market, Social, Environmental, Gender and Economic research projects development consulting, Environmental impact Assessment and Environmental and Social audit. He is also a practicing Organizational Development (OD), Agricultural Cooperatives Development, Farmers Agri-Business Schools (FBS) and Farmers Field Schools (FFS), Community and Social Development Project Implementation, Training Implementation Organizational Performance Assessment System (OPAS) expert, Participatory Appraisal of Competitive Advantage (PACA) approach in local economic development, and an Independent Project Verification Agent consultant.. He has also worked on notable projects with GIZ-SEDIN. West Africa Agricultural Productivity Programme, INCLUDOVATE research survey instrument questionnaire and checklist development and data collection on women economic development in aquaculture, World Fish, IFDC FGN Agriculture Growth Enhancement Scheme project, IFAD -Climate Smart Agricultural Practice Project, World Bank FADAMA II, III, Alternative Financing Project and NGCARES programme in Sokoto, Niger, Kwara, Bayelsa, Delta, Yobe, Borno, Jigwa, Katsina and Zamfara States, Consult Hyperium Alpha numeric data collection and management of Federal Government of Nigeria Growth Enhancement Support project, Micheal Jacobs Consulting SMEDAN-GEM project, P3 Consulting, EMPLAN-ATKINS-World Bank TRIMING project, Sokoto State Agricultural Development Project, Usmaniyya General Consultant, Sokoto State Ministries of Budget and Planning, Animal and Fisheries and Agriculture, Kebbi State Ministry of Animal Health and fisheries Development, and other sponsored research projects (UDU-NNPC Environmental impact assessment project), among others. He is responsible for scripting of questionnaire on KOBO, SOGO Analytics and Survey Monkey, Excel Financials and other platforms, data processing, descriptive/inferential analyses leading to significant insights and inferences to support decision making and project goals and impact achievement. Abubakar is vast in project management and working to achieve milestones in achieving project objectives, mission and vision. He likes traveling for research (Traveled to the Six geopolitical Zones of Nigeria) and speaks and write good English. He can communicate in (Unemeh, Urhobo, Hausa, Yoruba, Bissan, Igala and Little of Nupe) local Nigerian Languages. He has interest in reading and research.
