Brief Biography

I Yakubu. A. A. Held from Jigawa state in Auyo Local Government Area. Born in 1966 at Hakudau village to late Alh. Abbas Yakubu Usman, and Khadija Mohammad Aliyu. Attended Gama Sabuwa primary school, Science Secondary School Dawakin Tofa all in the old Kano State. Obtained B,SC Agriculture, M.Sc and PhD Agricultural Economics at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto in 1996, 2000, and 2008 respective years. Now lecturing at the Department of Agricultural Economics in my almata as Assistant lecturer rose through the ranks up to the level of Professor. Supervised PhDs, Msc and undergraduate projects. External Examiner to many Federal and State Universities External Promotion Assessor to universities. Member and Chair to many University adhoc and Standing university Committees. Published widely in local, international journals. Attended many international, national conferences, workshops, symposium, seminars. Thought Agricultural Economics courses at all levels of undergraduate and postgraduates. Participated in various Agricultural researches with Africa Rice, TRIMMING project, Renewable Energy(NNPC), Yobe Agricultural Summit, Hadejia Jammare River Basin Development Authourity, Sokoto River Rima Basin Authourity, Fadama II project etc. Member of various professional and developmental bodies and traveled widely across Nigeria. Currently Chairman University Senior Staff Promotion Committee. Director Centre Agricultural .and Pastoral Research Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. Happily married with children.
