Prof. Alhassan Danladi Isah


Brief Biography

Professor A.D.Isah was born in 1963 and holds BSc.(Agric), M.SC (Forest Resources Management) and PhD (forestry) Cert in Remote Sensing and GIS and a Professor of Forest Ecology and Silviculture in the Department of Forestry and Environment, Faculty of Agriculture of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Nigeria. With about two (2) decades of teaching and research experience in the University, with over fifty (50)publications, during this period, I have held various administrative positions in the University from Head of unit, Head ofDepartment, Deputy Dean, Dean and Complex Co-coordinator (Engineering and Agro - Vet, complex). I have also served in various capacities at various committees of the University, States and National levels. I have supervised a number of Postgraduate students at PhD and M.Sc. levels. My research interest is in the area of Ecosystem Restoration, particularly as it affects Savanna ecosystem. Currently I am working on the following research areas with Postgraduate students;

(a) Inventory of urban trees for carbon sequestration and land surface temperature mitigation in kano metropolis, Nigeria.
(b) Impact of Climate Change on the Phenology of Some Savanna Tree Species.
